33. Flash in the Pan. Kelson, Ferris & Sylvester, System of a Down, The Cure, Dee Long & Randy Cooke, Wynand Fourie, Michael Kiwanuka, Gary Moore, Frank Black
Nicely curated playlist, John, and I definitely hear the NYtheSpirit influence. (In fact, after the last video, YouTube random play served up an other frequent flyer there, SLAVE to the SQUAREwave's "Healing Hands!)
And thanks for the shout-out. "Radio/Video" is such a unique and enjoyable track, thanks for featuring it.
Flash and the Pan bring back a lot of memories; I really liked this track.
"Set Me Free" is a fabulous song; smoky vocals in a powerful mix. I'd never heard Ferris & Sylvester (as far as I remember) and loved their chemistry. The setting in Streatham reminded me of a trip to London to visit our son and family some years ago, and when he put us on the wrong bus or train we ended up there in a place where I'd have welcomed this musical experience rather than what we had whilst trying to find our way back to where we meant to go.
What more can be said about the Cure's new album, right? Stuck in traffic today, which thankfully aI rarely experience anymore, doing a last-minute favour, one of theirs came on my CarPlay. Fabulous album.
"Little Neutrino" is a wonderful piece, and then I was knocked almost out of my socks by Fourie's heartfelt and beautifully compiled tribute to Ren. I remain grateful to you for persisting in sending Ren's videos and igniting my admiration for this man and his music. Wow... how that must feel for him to have such a magnificent piece put together with love for him...
"Lowdown" was new to me. Kiwanuka is a powerful artist whose music and videos are always top-notch. And I remember being quite taken with the Gary Moore piece when the Marsbar played it some weeks ago.
"Headache" was completely new to me. Interesting and creative, and I will hav to give that a go again to take it in more fully.
Thanks again for putting this together and sharing the music that speaks to you.
Hey Steve. Healing Hands. That's a new one to me. Very cool. Some Depeche Mode type vibes going on there. That's the second Ferris and Sylvester track I've posted. The other is This is How My Voice Sounds which was the lead on Week 13. A fantastic track and so inspiring. You must check that one out. That video that accompanies Lowdown really grabbed me and was the perfect accompaniment to the music. Frank Black of the Pixies is a musical genius. I love his Maytag Man persona in that video. So glad you dropped by for a listen and thanks for the great comments.

Hey John, my pleasure. Yes, S2TSW definitely does have a bit of a DM vibe on that one. They’re quite versatile.
Will go back and check #13.
It’s always kinda nice when the video and song correlate!
Maytag Man, ha, yes I knew it was twigging a memory.
